Vic: Man in hospital with possible brain injury after bar fight

A man is in hospital with possible brain injury after being bashed in a Melbourne bar.

Victoria Police say a fight began about 3 o'clock (AEST) this morning between two strangers
in the Doncaster Inn.

Spokeswoman MARIKA FENGLER says the offender punched the victim's face .. causing multiple
fractures and possible brain injury.

Ms FENGLER says the victim didn't have much chance to retaliate .. and the latest report
suggests his injures are serious .. not life threatening.

Police have not yet established the victim or offender's identity.
